Possessing a B Tech (Hons) degree from the prestigious IIT Kharagpur, his career in the energy sector kickstarted at Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) back in 1965.

Those early years were all about diving deep into refinery maintenance and operations within the Electrical Department. He is also a member of Institute of Engineers.
Fast forward to 1978, he found a new home at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), where he began his climb up the ladder from Deputy Manager to the esteemed position of Executive Director.
In the realms of BHEL, he was responsible for overseeing the erection and commissioning of power sets, some as massive as 500MW, spread across diverse project sites throughout the nation. Notably, from 1996 to 2000, he held the reins as Executive Director, Power Sector (Eastern Region), overseeing power stations in multiple states.
Between 2000 and 2003, Bhopal became his base of operations, steering the ship at BHEL's Bhopal unit, ensuring the efficient manufacturing of high-voltage electrical machinery and hydro turbines.
Beyond the corporate arena, his heart beats for philanthropy. A philanthropist at heart, he seize every opportunity to contribute to society's well-being. Whether it's sharing knowledge or active involvement, making a positive impact is a lifelong commitment, and he wears this badge with pride.
He is recognized for his authorship of two management books in Hindi, one in English, a collection of English short stories and three volumes of Bengali short stories.
Today, his journey continues as Independent Director at Techno Electric and Engineering Company Limited & WPIL Limited and Governing Committee member as industry expert in Poddar Group. He was a member of the Board of Governors of Bengal College of Engineering and Technology, Durgapur between 2003 and 2006. The story so far is a testament to a career marked by expertise, leadership, and a genuine desire to create a better world.
